The
Apple House Children and Youth Village was established in 1954 as an
initiative of the Gan Yavneh Local Council.
The village is situated on a 10-acre plot.
It is home to 185 orphan children and adolescents, ages two to eighteen who are
organized into three educational groupings.
Intensive help with studies
in various areas, both at school and in the village is backed up by
intensive emotional support from professional staff at the village– a
social worker, psychologists, psychiatric counselors, an art therapist and
therapy through animal care and more. In addition there are paramedics,
a communications clinician, occupational therapy, physiotherapy. The village
conducts a broad range of activities – social activities in groups,
leisure-time enrichment programs, parties, birthday celebrations, outings,
performances, summer camps, bar mitzvah programs and other forms of fun,
enrichment and positive and constructive social interaction.
