Alumim views good
education as its primary objective. The village, established in 1954,
has been home to thousands of Israeli youth who are now fully integrated
into Israeli society as happy and productive citizens. The residents of
Alumin enjoy the high-level community services available in nearby Kfar
Saba.
The village operates a
unique day format program, where the participants – ages kindergarten
through elementary school, participate in the village’s supportive
programming and intensive educational environment but live at home.
This joint community-based program supported by the village and the
general community has been very successful.
The Alumim format is
dedicated to develop and advance the children and to allow them to
discover and express their talents. To ensure they reach their full
potential, the village believes the family is a key influence on the
child’s life that cannot be ignored, thus, one must respect the family
and make them an integral part of the child’s growth and integration
into the community. Much energy is channeled into closing scholastic
gaps and avoiding gaps developing between village residents and their
peers in the greater community. Normal function in the scholastic domain
is a prerequisite for candidacy for this program.
